I always wondered how hard it would be to use a color LCD screen , would this display swith red. blue, green fast enough to mimick a color wheel?? A lot of space can be save over a wheel. Has anyone done this using surplus LCD color screen using solid state circiutry. It's only a matter in a few years before the really large color LCDs-- 15-17" for notebooks become available as surplus. Circuits for color can be put in small wood box, matching cabinet color of TV and LCD screen can be framed in wood to match TV case too. Since circuit wood case and lcd frame wood can be stained to match TV case closely, would lookas though part of TV. LCD screen wood frame could be shaped to give give proper round screen masking, a fresnell maginifier can be put in front of lcd and housed in same box for a clean appearance.
