Anyone familiar with a Symphonic TPS 200?
I have an old TV/clock/radio combination unit that was my fathers, I'm guessing it was from the late 60's or early 70's. It says it is a Symphonic and the bottom plate lists the model number as "TPS 200". The TV is about 3" diagonal, maybe a bit less, and is black and white. Try as I might I can't find anything on the internet about such a unit. The closest references I have found so far are for a TPS 30, TPS 301, TPS 5011, and a TPS 5050. I looking for any information I can find on the unit, including whether it may have any value as a collectible. Has anyone ever heard of it or know where I could go to find information?
Thanks! |

Is it "Upright", the screen on top & speaker on bottom, w/the controls in between ? I think there were a BUNCH of these things made/sold in the 1968-72 or so time frame, w/different model #s, but all variations on a theme. Not worth a WHOLE lot of money, but cute as a bug's ear, & a worthy set to have as a collectible...

I think Symphonic was a brand sold by Sears at one time,in addition to Silvertone.

Picture of Unit
Thanks all for the responses. This is an unusual one, I guess. It is a console-style unit, with the TV, clock, and radio all lined up in a row. See the attached picture. Anyone ever seen anything like it?

I'm going to guess early '70's, also.
I don't remember seeing the Symphonic brand on any Sears equipment; but, I do remember seeing the "Syntronic" label on record changers used in Silvertone products from the '50's and '60's. |
