Panasonic AG-2100 connection cable(s)
Hello. This is my first post, so please let me know if I am not following the proper protocols.
I have a Panasonic AG-2100 video cassette player. I know very little about it, and can find very little via Google. It powers up fine, but has a TV jack/plug/connector I've never seen before, so I can't test it to see if the unit works. - Can anyone tell me the name of this type of connector? (I have attached a picture of the unit's rear panel) - Do you think the cost of the connector outweighs the value of the unit (i.e. should I just take it to the Salvation Army drop-off)? Thank you. |

That connector's signals are duplicated on the other jacks -- BNC for video, RCA is audio. No need to chase one down.
It's a player only, so no inputs (except for the pass-thru RF circuit.) |

The unusual conenctor is an EIAJ 8 pin, common on domestic and industrial VTRs in the 1960s and 1970s. It carried video and audio input and output. The corresponding plugs are now rare. I have a cable with one on each end.

Thank you both for the information.
