Which Deoxit product?
I am getting some but I wonder if it lubricates also? Is the spray good for all a TV's needs or should I get the wipes or what?I got an old tuner and controls plus lots of connectors, stc. to do.
I have an old remote that has the copper circuits turned to black. Will Deoxit help that? Thanks |

Deoxit is best for removing oxidation, it really doesn't have lubricating properties...you can follow it up with a Caig product called CaiLube MCL for control lubrication. This alone is good to use on slide pots.
I prefer Deoxit DN5 non-flammable as it seems to leave less of a messy residue. Have used the Deoxit gel in a small tube on small areas such as relay contacts, which I then cleaned with a lint-free cloth to remove the oxidation and Deoxit gel residue. There is also a Deoxit pen we have found useful for cleaning contacts such as circuit board edge connectors. |
