Got another GE
Similar to one Eric H has. I found this at an antique store here in Columbus.

I've got one of those little 9" GE's, mine's the turquoise/white version. They're kind of gutless wonders. I recapped mine and it works as good as new, which is the good and bad news at the same time. The picture is very stable but it's prone to sync buzz and the contrast and focus are pretty soft. Very cute little set, I think a display of the 9, 14, and 17 inch sets of that vintage GE's would make a neat display.

THe CRT is intact. It's dirtier than the pic shows. I also didn't bother with the lighting, since this was just a quickie so I could update the site.

Neat!
These are really cute sets, not much to them inside, you can recap one in about an hour and they do perform decently. I have three of these that work to varying degrees, not an easy thing since the CRT's usually seem to be bad in one way or another. |
