Pink Dualette TV

Hello - I just registered on this site! I have a pink Dualette TV, which from what I can gather on this forum, is quite prized. I'm not a technologically-inclined person, so I can't give you many details except to say that it's not in working order at the moment but looks in otherwise good shape.

Do you have any suggestions for where I could sell this item? I'm not thrilled to deal with ebay, but may resort to that ... I just want it to go to someone who will be very excited to own this cool TV and get a fair price.

I'm in the New York area, by the way. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Thanks,
Cathy

Follow-up question - how would I find someone to repair this TV? And should I get it in working order before trying to sell it, on ebay or wherever? I can't find anyone who can work on such an old television.....help!

Hello Cathy,

I'm not any kind of policeman here, but its not the coolest thing to join up to the fourm to see how you could sell your items. Kick back a bit, enjoy your surroundings, and get a feel for the people here.

However, I'm sure someone will chime in here to give you advice on a good TV tech. THere's not alot of TV shops left in the business who repair vintage tv sets. Personally, I would get it working and use it once in awhile to watch my favorite old shows rather than sell it. I would help repair the set, but I'm on the other side of the map in california. Get it working and enjoy it, its better to preserve the past than to rid yourself of it to someone who may only get rid of it themselves for profit to someone who may turn it into a fishbowl.

Good luck with your set. I apologize if I come off as one with an attitude.

Cathy,

As Jordan said, we get a lot of people just signing up to use the collective knowledge here as a price guide, so don't be upset that we don't react well to that. If you want the most profit, use ebay. If you want it to go to someone who really likes these then please use our for sale area, set a lower price and someone here will probably be interested, buy it, fix it up, and then send you a picture when it is done. That's the kind of people that are here...good people.

OR you could get it repaired and put it up for display in your house, run a dvd player through it and have a very unique, functional, piece of "retro chic" style that none of your friends have. Then you would fit in nicely here and we'd love to have your company! Someone here can guide you to a repair shop in your area...

I'm really sorry if I offended y'all. I'm not out just to make money here, I just wanted to find people who would appreciate this item. I may indeed decide to keep it, because it's really cool. But either way, I need to find someone to repair it before I decide.....any help would be appreciated.
