Grandma's TV (and radio)
I think the TV is a Zenith? Can anyone verify?
The radio might be harder ;>) but you might enjoy trying. I have no idea. |

It is a 1955. I have a very rusty and necked one in my garage. 19R21 chassis, sams 267
Radio is uber cool, possibly an RCA or Stromberg Carlson Last edited by DavGoodlin; 06-08-2012 at 10:42 AM. Reason: wrong chassis |

It's a genuine HI-LO brand "UHF Spiral-Tenna" said to receive both VHF and UHF; but they put UHF in the name because that was new at the time.

I just love those old pictures with TV sets in them. People always took those indoor pictures in the 50's and 60's with their TV sets appearing proeminently on the picture. That alone shows how much the TV set was a prized possession back them.
I will, someday, simulate a picture like those with myself in it. I will dress in 50's clothes and let myself be photographed with one of my vintage TVs. |

We should have a contest. Everyone submit two photos, one authentic old photo and another "recreation" and see if we can tell which ones are real or "memorex"

Let's see...
I take a picture of myself now, and claim it's from 1955? You'd be asking how I lived to be 125! [Edit] - besides, my avatar is the real thing |
