Cool Predicta advertising film on YouTube
"We are looking at 1965"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG0wpwq8FdQ There's something odd about the set shown at the beginning and end, check out the cutout area above the channel selector, it looks like there's some sort of hood or cover there. Possibly it was a mock up or a Prototype? |

Yeah, that does look weird. Never saw that on a real set.
Check out the Princess / Siesta commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJD0L...WxckqXepM_8Jy7 and Tandem. That housewife must be in great shape - those CRT heads are heavy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG0wp...WxckqXepM_8Jy7 |

Love the Siesta ad, personally I don't want my Predicta to turn itself on while I'm asleep! especially before the advent of smoke detectors.

"Wow-Oh-Wooooo"...We are looking from TV from 1965..." Uhh, no, you weren't. You were looking at a rather BADLY designed, researched product from gawky old 1958... The sets were cramped, cooked themselves to death, because they had inadequate ventilation.. Now, if Philco had somehow managed to package a color Roundie like that, minus the heating problems, yeah, THEN they might have had something....
