Zenith Porthole - Graemere (chassis 23G22) SAMS
Ok antique TV collectors, a bit of literature confusion that I am asking for assistance with.
I have a 1950 Zenith Porthole, model G2346R (Graemere). Chassis 23G22. Stamps on back of chassis is where I got this info from. I found the original Zenith manual on the ETF webpage. Here: http://www.earlytelevision.org/pdf/Z...anual_TV-5.pdf This manual is the exact set I have, but it does NOT contain the chassis underside photos, which are VERY helpful in identifying cap and resistor values. So I figured I would pull the SAMS by searching for model and/or chassis number. Found it at 98-17. This SAMS lists a whole bunch of chassis, but the ONLY underside chassis photos are not even close to my set. Circuits, tubes, pic tube (16 inch instead of 12 inch) are different, and the SAMS shows a separate power supply chassis, whereas my set is a single chassis. The SAMS does lists my model (G2346R) and my chassis (23G22), but it is totally different. The 98-17 SAMS is the only one that comes up when searching for my model or chassis numbers. Any other resources I should check out to try and find underside photos of MY chassis ID'ing caps and resistors, since this SAMS is definitely NOT showing the same chassis as in the original manual? It seems to be showing the 16 inch combo model and not mine, but since my model and chassis numbers are grouped into this SAMS, it is the only SAMS coming up in searches for my chassis/model. Thx.
