When W. T. Grant stores shut down in 1973, I was just a kid buying aquarium fish in their pet department. The last time I went to this store, the saleslady handed me the net and told me to get any fish that I could take. She said the tanks would be gone the next day.
Who made the Bradford color sets? I dont really remember servicing any of them, other than a handfull of B/W portables. |

I saw a Bradford 19" color with a plastic wood cabinet with the tuner knobs side by side(I think) around '75. It was maybe a year old and I was told the salesman said Panasonic made it but maybe GE did.

I know I had a GE built Bradford at one time. It was a version of the General's hybrid chassis, as I recall.

My wife worked for a W T Grant store during high school in California. She said that people wrote hot checks to them with impunity(they never were prosecuted). Also she saw people get away with this mulitple times.
Perhaps this is part of the reason they went under? |
