Smile Getting new toyz. Need help..........

Hi. I'm getting new toyz from our friend Kamakiri. An Admiral 12" combination tv, radio, and, phonograph in a chinese painted cabinet.Model 4H18SN Ch.30C1-S tv. It's an odd ball set, and, the first one by Admiral that uses a 12QP4 picture tube. Tube is a Dumont, and, They stamped on chassis that it was wired for that tube only.
Sams's doesn't list it, and, I need schematic badly. Can anyone locate a paper copy of the entire schematic, or, mannual?? I'll gladly buy it.

Second set Is a rare Bendix combination set with the push button tv channels selection. Ten inch tube. Can anyone locate a paper schematic for me for this set??

I'm very excited about getting these two sets, and, look forward to receiving them next month. I'll post pics as soon as I can figure out how. Photobucket no longer works correctly. Instead of posting pics it now posts links to where they were listed for sale.
I'm very dissappointed in photo bucket.

Please help, guys.
Thanks.

Bill
a 12LP4 will sub for a 12QP4 the only trouble is the neck is a little longer on the 12LP4 and the anode connector is different but can be changed.

are you sure the 12QP4 was original to the set ? and is it a bad crt ?

It's a member of the 30A1/B1/C1/D1 chassis family and is covered in Riders vol #3.

You can download a scan of the Riders from the ETF here: http://www.earlytelevision.org/pdf/a..._rider_tv3.pdf

It was Admiral's workhorse chassis in '48-'49 and used 10", 12" and 16" CRTs including: 12BP4, 12LP4, 12TP4, 12KP4 and 12QP4. There are notes on page 33 about minor wiring/component differences for each type.

Good luck

In addition to the info Bob listed:

Download from Vol. 1 of Rider Receiver Trouble Cures Pages 22-23 only for several updates for specific problems common on these chassis.

Bill, the Sams for the table model version of the Bendix is at the ETF website

http://www.earlytelevision.org/pdf/B..._Sams_69-4.pdf

I would think your set would have some modest mods to allow for radio and phono operation. If you supply a model number, it might be covered in Riders.

So, I guess that mens there is nothing on the combination. Thanks anyway, John... I found a sams that's real close on the Admiral . It appears to be a very similar chassis, and, covers the radio. So, it's better than nothing at all.
Thanks, guys. Now, I have to wait for a month for them to come.

I have Rider's 3 with the Bendix combination in it. I could scan it for you, but it would have to be done two scans per page due to the large size of the Rider pages. You could then print, cut and tape the pages together. There are 20 pages in the Rider's, so you would have 40 papers to deal with.
