New Member-, with a RCA Test Jig 11A1015
Greetings everyone
One of my brothers in broadcasting( and videokarma member) encouraged me to join and post here. I am a director of technical operations at a large broadcast radio group based in Philadelphia. Got my start at our family electronics business when I was a young boy. Checking tubes and sweeping floors at the age of 13, installing car radios at by the age of 16, and assisting with home service at the same time with dad or the great guys that worked there. I think of them often. To me, the TV servicers were like scientists to me. They were intelligent and were real electronics experts. and kind. My father opened his business in 1948, when radio repair was a real big thing, and transitioned to TV as more and more sets were being purchased. It was in 1951 that mom and dad purchased the property at Glenolden PA for "Leon's Electronic service" A lot of great things were accomplished there. Dad ran a tight ship with a kind approach to leadership, he was a good boss and father, and was exceptional with his customer service. The physical building is still there, with our family home behind it, where my 94 yr old Mother still lives today. I do intend on making the shop more of a lab for all my on going projects for radio engineering work and hobbies i've been meaning to start up with again. . At the shop is the RCA 11A1015 test jig. I am obtaining a chassis, from my friend to start working with it. I have a few CRT Testers I will pull out of storage soon. . thought I'd share a photo of the jig,(Attached) with others from the shop at a later time. along with occasional progress. looking forward to all your sage advice. I see some really smart talented technicians here! |
