Toshiba 65HDX82 - Wavy Lines

I have this Toshiba rear projection TV. It's a great TV. Recently it has developed wavy lines when I send a signal to it from my computer or DVD player going through a Pioneer 5.1 receiver. When I send it a signal from my cable box going through the same receiver the picture is fine. Something I read pointed to a convergence module? Anybody know anything about these TVs?

Convergence issues don't usually cause wavy lines.

Describe the lines more clearly or link to a picture of them. Are they moving or stationary? Sharp or blurry? Where are they on the screen and which direction do they go in (vertical, horizontal, diagonal)? Straight or squiggly?

Do the DVD player and cable box use the same kind of input or different?

Everything is HDMI before the receiver. The out from the receiver is hdmi to avi to the tv.

If I understand correctly, this exact arrangement used to work OK, but now it jitters.
In that case it is not a problem with the source being incompatible, so I have to say sorry, I don't know enough about your gear to be any help.

Yes, it worked.

If I replace the TV with a different monitor, the picture is fine.

One of your ACCSY's is bad. Check your cables & wall warts first.
Old TV's dont like new tech, so many formats that were not even
invented yet.

What is an ACCSY?

At least 2 different outputs on my amp are showing up like this. The cable box is the only thing that seems to be working. So, I'd be surprised of 2 different cables failed at the same time. I've also tried swapping some of the cables. I'll try again.

So, new development.

Now the red projector has gone out of alignment. Creating a red wave across the screen.

Before I made this post I read some stuff online which lead me to believe the convergence board was going.

My question is, is the red being out of alignment related to the jitter?

I see one cap on one of the main boards that is swollen. At this point I'm not sure which board is which. Just digging in.

I do see caps on the boards connected to the projectors. I don't know anything about the terminology relating to this stuff. but, should I mess with the smaller boards on connected to the red projector or should I just stick to the board where I already see the swollen cap?

Good evening; I have no idea how your setup works, but Since you have a swollen cap
that seems like a good place to begin.... Post a pic of it, and of the board it is on, and
where the wires from that board go- Since it's a projection set, it's old enough for
us here to understand it.... Also, it might be a good idea for you to replace that
cap and look around for others that may also be bad.... Testing it would be a cool
idea too, do you have a cap tester? Adapters for example those that convert
"new" signals to work on "old" tv's often don't always work perfectly, so you
may have to invest in more than one type, or brand of those gadgets....
Focus on what you can see - follow through on the possible swollen cap
show us where it is.... Never seen the sideways jitter in your video, If
I were to guess Looks like the Horiz sync is locking on noise of some
kind. Does the tv work OK on other period correct signal sources?
Does that tv have a comb filter? Maybe there are power supply
caps going bad..... Does that tv accept regular old style Analog
signals? Or an I off in left field.....?

I have the whole thing opened up. It is an old TV. It has a lot going on though.

Right now I can't see a good path to get the boards out. I'm going to take some pictures tomorrow.

I'll post the manual I have too, for anyone who's interested.

The TV was working on all inputs as shortly before I made this post. Then the jitter started on some of the inputs. The red projector just broke a couple days ago. It was progressively getting worse before I opened it up.

It could be a power supply cap. It's close to where the AC is coming in. Maybe that could cause the jitter? I don't know how noise works in video. I'd guess that the red projector issue is caused by something else.

It has a bunch of different inputs. It is pre HDMI. I think it has 2 digital inputs DVI and some number of analog inputs.
