Check out "Hints on Radiola Servicing" (AK upgrades to an RCA antenna circuit), publication page 202 by "Major Budenkaye"

It seems that Philco, Zenith, A-K, Majestic and other fledglings of late 20s were building better radios than RCA...

My take: LMAO b/c my Grandfather G worked in Camden's "A plant" 1936-39, leaving due to unspecified conflicts - union related.
