Maggie roundie in Orange California

Man! This is a nice set. Seems as though they are attempting to part it out!

I know the bidder. He's a So. Cal. TV guy. So maybe it will go to a good home. This has also got to be a heavy combo.

My RCA CTC9 Felton came from the San Fernando Valley in LA. Shipping was horrendus at $486, but it got here, and it was WELL worth the money. It really is a beautiful set.

It says "needs a tube", hope he doesn't mean the really BIG one. Come to think of it that thing is pushed up pretty close to that wall. Wish I could see what the controls look like with those doors opened.

I'm the bidder (at least just now)... But I'm bidding on behalf of Dr. Dan. He isn't on the Net, and he has a love for those ton-weighing magnavox combo sets He has about 15 of them which he constantly threatens to ask me to repair. So far, keeping one of his awful Magnavox sets operational has been OK with him.

Oh; I have no doubt it needs "a tube", but it also likely needs the following: Flyback, Focus coil, Convergence yoke bracket, tuner rebuilt, filter caps, phono overhauled, new CRT, new knobs, new cord, new chassis, and new cabinet,

Better yet, retrofit it with a Zenith 25DC56 chassis!!!!!

gee 25 bucks winning bid, not bad, that's even too cheap for a parts set (lets hope this one isn't) I would have bid but I have enough space problems with tvs and pinball machines as it is, and a combo? Double trouble! This set would look great with somebody that has an oriental streak in their furniture tastes.

I wouldn't have given 25 cents for the thing, unless the CRT was good.

Looks like I'm the lucky winner (or victim?)... I put an eMail in to the seller, so I probably will go down and haul it home in the next couple days. I think the main reason it got hardly any attention is that he had it listed in some goofy category like Kitchen Cabinets. I have a standing search for Magnavox+tv in Los Angeles. So it popped up in my search even being so miscategorized.

I'll give it a quick once-over when I get it here, and will post the upshot.

And for Charliesheen; I know Dan has a couple B&W combos, but I don't think any are available for sale. He won't part with anything! I used to see a lot of the early 27" B&W combos, but they have disappeared. If one turns up, it will be free or cheap (Unless Dan sees it first)...
