2004 Early Television Convention

The Early Television Foundation (ETF) proudly announces its second Early Television Convention! The 2004 convention will be held at the ETF Museum in Hilliard, Ohio, USA, over the weekend of April 24th & 25th.

Tentatively scheduled for the 2004 Convention are Discussions and Demonstrations of:

 The CBS Field Sequential Color TV System Lives Again!
 Frozen Out in the Forties and Fifties? Distant TV Reception (TVDX’ing) in the NTSC Era.
 A 1938 GE 7 inch prototype electronic receiver
 1953 Philco prototype 15 inch color set
 RCA's TV program in Russia in 1939 (a Video Presentation)

And, others to be arranged!

The 2003 Early Television Convention included Discussions and Demonstrations of:

 Mechanical Scanning TV (Disc and Mirror Screw)
 A Brief History of Baird TV, Including Restoration of a Baird T-5 Receiver
 Development of the NTSC Color (Colour) Standard
 Collecting TV Ephemera
 TV Receivers of the GDR
 Color Wheels for NTSC Receivers
 The RCA RR-359 Field Trials Receiver
 RCA Prewar Iconoscope Camera
 A Homebuilt Color TV Camera from the 1960’s
 A Panel Discussion on the Collecting and Restoration of Early TV Receivers

In addition, the 2004 Convention will include the sumptuous annual “Early TV Banquet”! (optional)

A nominal registration fee includes lunch and drinks.

missed it last year.its too close to me to have an excuse to miss it.

Last time the date conflicted with our Robotics Competition...
