Any suggestions on how to adjust frozen ferrite slugs? It appears that the wax has melted and glued the slugs to the coil forms. I have the proper alignment tools. I learned the hard way years ago not to improvise here.
Should I try a hot air gun or just let the set run until things get hot enough to free up, if ever? I might not need to do an alignment, but wanted to start thinking about it in case I do need one. John |

Used this trick many times, if its an allen type, iinsert the right size metal allen wrench short end first, then heat with a lighter about 10 seconds (STOP)! wait a couple seconds and try to turn. if this doesnt work after a couple tries the form may have swoellen around the slug and then it may never turn.

Thanks for the suggestion. These have a flat screwdriver slot in the ferrite bottom and on top a threaded brass rod with a slot. Maybe I can heat the threaded rod.

Might not take much heat-last one I did responded to one minute with a cheap hair dryer. You have patience so you should be fine!
