Rare tv?

I found a Merck tv and I have never heard of one....
Is that brand rare and or valuable?

Also what about a coin operated set? is it worth fixing?

I never saw one, but Meck was a manufacturer from the 40s-50s located in Indiana I think

Yeah, are you sure its not a "MECK" ? I THINK John Meck Industries bought out E.H. Scott Co., after E.H. was forced out of the company in the late Forties...Those TVs are prolly rare, but like most old TVs, they're not too valuable, 'cept to Nutz like us...(grin)

Plymouth, Indiana. I said so, one all their OEM tubes.
They also built products for some of the smaller chains and mom-pop stores.
I worked on an Aircastle, made by them for Speigel stores.
Their products were called " Mirror Tone", made by Meck. Performance wise, somewhere between Admiral and Muntz.

Coin operated tv's are definately worth repairing especially if complete.

well, the cabinet and coin mechanism are intact, so is the directions plate. No idea what went in it. That being stated My friend and I bought all of Fair radios remaining tv's. We have I dont know( dont have them all at my friends shop yet) fifteen complete sets and some cabinets that need chassis's. We were going to restore them and then sell but an tv expert said that collectors would want to repair them on there own and there is not really a market for running black and white sets as far as making decent profit on.....
so I am unsure whats going to happen to the sets that I have. Most need cabinet work.

the coin set looks like a metal cabinet rca set is going to fit in it perfectly so I am thinking that will be one project.
there is a console rca with 10" roundie black and white....thats mine.
I have an Arvin table top 10" round b&W I want and the veneer is crap on one side. the rest of these sets are probably parts because I dont believe people are going to want to ship a 21'' table top set or a console....especially needing cabinet work.
So my friend and I are trying to figure out our next move. That why I have this thread... I am wanting extra opinions.

In the bad old days, "Motel 6" was (in)famous for its coin-operated TV sets.

Back in the day, some of the indie motels on roads like U.S. 1, U.S. 66 were running Stewart-Warner's, Arvin's, etc., from the early 1950's into the early 1970's...

I remember all the small coin operated tvs (5 inch crts?) at the greyhound bus station in the 1960s.

That Meck might have belonged to Jack Benny! (he had a coin-operated TV in at least one episode)

Meck also made some ham gear too. The one that comes to mind is a transmitter that had 4 6L6 tubes. Two in the modulator and two in the rf final.

The 7" Meck is a not often seen desirable among collectors. I would say $350 clean and complete.
