BR Player Struggles with Eject

My Panasonic DMP-BD75 BR player has a lot of trouble ejecting and recalling the tray. Sometimes it doesn't even make it all the way out and the motor gives up. Is the loading mechanism on these drives exposed? What can cause this behavior?

Not sure.of the specific model but many optical disc players are based on computer optical disc drives and develop similar problems.... rubber belt for load mech degrades, grease on the sliders petrifies or was never there and plastic gets rough and frictioney, sometimes debris gets in and jams things up.

BD players are common 15$ items at the local thrifts. In your shoes if it is being too much of a pain I would try to open it and fix it and if that fails go get another cheap used one.

Thanks! I have the remote and everything so I’d rather keep this one. If it has a belt, I probably know where the problem lies then. It’s a 2011 model.

Here's a photo of the interior. Looks like a standard drive. Is there a common belt size?
