Vactron Picture Tube Manufacturer. 15GP22 CRT ???
Spotted this one eBay today.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=180034415468 Does anyone know anything about Vactron? Did they make early color picture tubes? Might be a good source of info... Would they have been licensed to make the 15GP22? Tom |

That would be a great film to show at the convention. I would have bid if I'd seen it. I hope somebody here got it.
Sounds like that liquid pouring could be of the safety glass sealer(PVA)? As for the 15GP22: I have wondered if there would have been a production manual made by the RCA engineers to give to the CRT production facilities. Wouldn't there have been a few copies with all the secrets to make a 15GP22 from scratch? Could that info be obtained somehow? Being able to have a supply of CRT's for the CT100's would be a great thing that could lead to more interest in the newer sets as well. |

It's unlikely that the margin was worse for any other tricolor CRT. Funding a 15GP22 production manual was probably out of the question.

I was bidding on it, but somebody else wanted it more. I guess I should have bid more, since it would be a nice thing to have.
