pics of 2 restorations

the first is a Philco 95 console that was given to my mom-in-law for her birthday. the chassis was in dire need as well as the cabinet. by the time it was done, it played and looked exceptionally well.

as it was purchased.


all stripped, note the missing veneer on the trim at the top and bottom of the center panel. this was replaced with new veneer.


veneer replaced and ready for stain and lacquer:


here is the finished radio, note the birds eye maple from the start to finish:


here is another set that i'm currently working on which is much smaller in size. this cabinet stands 34 inches tall and is 20 inches wide. i picked this up as a project to see if i could do as well as the philco 95, but for me. the chassis is a rca 7k and the front panel came from a 7k console that someone hacked to fit in this cabinet. the cabinet is for a clarion 84. i decided to replace the center panel and the speaker cut out was a design i made on the fly. just need to finish the lacquer process now.
