Ampex 1000's around the World

The Ampex 1000 from Ch 9 Brisbane was taken home by Dave Barnaveld where he attempted to convert it into a 2"/16 track audio recorder (using an MCI or Sculley headstack?)(would have been better off buying an "economical" used MCI JH-16 - like the one at that station - which was probably the inspiration for his idea).

The British Science Museum has a 1000 on display sans racks, and no doubt the Ampex museum in Redwood City has one (if that museum is still open ?)

Anyone seen the Ampex museum or any other 1000's ?
