New member to Videokarma and Caretaker of a CT-100
I just became a member and find that this site is great to meet vintage tv collectors and a great source of information for restoring my CT-100.
I'm Jerry and I'm 57 years old. My father was a RCA dealer, Bristol Radio and Electric Co., located in Bristol, Rhode Island. He purchased the CT-100 back in 1954. So I've owned the Merrill all of my life. The serial number is B8000797. I restored the cabinet about 25 years ago. I lost interest when the CRT lost it's vacuum. I moved to Miami about two years ago and decided to take it with me. A few months ago I was talking about it to a friend and he urged me to check out the web and try to see what was out there for a CRT rebuild. Well, I got the fever back again for the set to run. I know RACS is rebuilding the 15GP22 but not sure if the vacuum problem is solved yet. Pete Dexnis told me he would know in a couple of weeks. Till then, I'm going to start restoring the chassis. If anyone can offer any information about restoring the set properly, I would very much appreciate a PM from you. Also, if anyone has any spare parts they wish to sell, I would be interested. I look forward to chatting and getting to know all of you guys into vintage tvs.
Thanks for reading
