I bet the screen wasn't blank, the flash probably washed it out.
Maybe Morris was on the screen.

I remember watching TopCat when it was on during Prime Time in the 1960's. And of coarse Felix was one of the first images transmitted on a very early (and primitive) 60 line mechanical scanning TV system in 1928.

That Zenith appears to be the exact same model set my father bought for our family in November of 1964 except the legs on our set were not rounded, but rather were squared. It was a great set that was virtually trouble free until it was replaced in the mid 1970's with a rectangular screen Zenith.

Yes I'm afraid I do remember what happened to it. It went to an organization called "The Rescue Mission". It's sort of like a Good Will or Salvation Army outlet place. I often wish I could have saved it, but at that time I was in college and definitely didn't have any say in matters like that around our home. Mom and Dad were very practical people and didn't see the need for keeping something around that was no longer needed.
