No luck so far. Most of the knobs I have are 36K....... I do have several 36C700889 channel selector knobs. I think these are for the 17 inch sets.
I will keep checking. |

One of the tools on my bench is an old toaster oven. A couple minutes in there and these come apart pretty easily. I would hesitate just a little with this, not knowing just how it might be effected. I have seen coils something like this, but typically they are just a few winds of larger wire.
I have a pile of knobs but would have to go by pictures to try and match. I don't think any of the NOS I have are this old.

I'm not worried about re-stuffing the cap. My concern is the coil around it... not screwing it up when I heat up the cap. I'd really like to try sliding the coil off the cap so that i can comfirm the value of the cap. The schematic and parts list have a minor discrepancy between the two, but I'm thinking there's a typo error on the part's list.
I can't really get a good picture of the knobs on the Sams. I'll put that on the back burner for now. Come to think of it, the other Motorola I saw at Canton was a 17" model and about the same year... maybe off by a year. It probably used the same knobs this one does or damn close to it. I'll give my toaster oven a try! Thanks!

One of the things I noticed was the color of the lettering on the CRT base... it's blue. I've never noticed blue before. I'm guessing this was RCA's way to signify a rebuild at that time. On color tubes, their rebuilds were called Colorama. This one is called Monogram. This is the first time I've seen that name.

Since nobody really mentioned it yet, I'm gonna say that the insulation got packed in there by some mousies; I've seen that sorta thing before. Bet they had itchy toes.
