Touchy adjustments can be due to dirty pots or old capactitors. In your case, likely due to both.

The Arvin sounds nice. You really wont know what kind of deal you got until you get it home and learn the condition of the CRT. If the crt needs replacing, will it be easy to get one? Some are and some are not. It's a gamble. If you can peak in the back and see a CRT booster in there, then you know the tube is no good. If I thought I could get a replacement easily, if the set was in nice cosmetic conditon and I really liked it, I would give 115 for it. Others might not.
