Another working CT-100 comes alive!

It took quite awile to finish this Merrill, A long winter allowed me the time to finish it up! Ser # B8002122, Cabinet and top # 26, Kine is dated 4-13.CRT has nice getter flash, emission OK. Recapped and updated with RCA Video and Audio in, I and Q are within spec. I will be offering it for sale on the ETF site for awile, I would like to see one of my Early Color TV brothers scoop it up before it goes viral. Shoot me an E-Mail if you are interested: KStanki@aol.com. Thanks Kirk

More Color Bars, Please

Its looking good Kirk, nice rich colors. I appreciate your screen shots in the way they should be, presented near full screen. The extreme red left and extreme green right looks great! Too bad you couldn’t show the screens driven from a saturated digital color-bar generator that produces all the color bars in-between. I don’t know what those toys cost now-a-days, but your CT100 certainly deserves it. Lotsa luck……Tom

And as a late comer to the party, I too would like to congratulate you on a nice set! I remember the transition from round CRTs to the rectangular CRTs in my lifetime. But I have to admit that I didn't remember the CT100.

Nice!!

Hi Kirk, and congrats on another great restoration!! The 4 is still looking very good and is used about once every two weeks for around 3-4 hours, always being brought up on a variac. It loves Technicolor movies LOL!
All the best,
Kevin

This is a very interesting Television(TV) with known historical significance. However, the title had me and perhaps other reader(s) somewhat confused as you indicated that "Another Working CT-100 Comes Alive" (per the thread title). This is rather confusing/misleading as you have essentially stated that you have a CT-100 Television(TV) which was in fact already working, but is now alive This does not technically make sense, as how can something that is already working come to life? Does this mean that the Television(TV) has always functioned/operated as initially intended, and that you (or someone else) have/has improved it's working condition to it's current state per your photographs? I do not see how a working TV can come back to life unless of course there was/were a circuit(s) or component(s) that did indeed function as intended, but perhaps other area(s) within the television(TV) needed attention (repair) to achieve proper functional status of the circuit(s)? If this was not the case/situation, then perhaps a better choice to title this thread would be to state that "Another CT-100 Has Come Back to Life". However, I must say/admit, the picture quality as displayed on the cathode ray tube (CRT) does look excellent considering the vintage (1954) of the instrument. Congratulations on owning such a historical piece of electronic technology.

And, for one who wants perfectionism, the contraction "it's" should not be used to indicate possession (twice!).

Anyway, nice job Kirk and the best of luck with the sale.

Steve
