Have you checked the mica caps on the horz and sync boards? They can go bad. Also, Some of them look like mica's, But are paper caps. I have had to replaced them in the ctc 5 with the same problem. Wonky horz hold.

Here is a picture of a mica cap. It is the red thing with the color dots on it. Sorry it is hard to see. Had to shove the camera in the set to get closer to the board. The set in the picture is a ctc 7c.

I looked at the sams and saw the same thing. No voltage rating. Put in a modern 1000 volt cap and see what it does. Take your volt meter and measure the dc voltage with the new cap in place. See what you got. Also a mica cap and ceramic caps are two different animals. You want to check the mica caps and ones that look like them.

Shouldn't that be 680pF not 680uF? Any non-lytic should not be more than .68uF in an RCA product of that vintage.

I am so happy I finally fixed my horizontal hold problem!
Replaced all but one of the ceramic/mica capacitors and my hold is now stable. Thanks a whole bunch to roundscreen who suggested I replace the ceramics and the micas. Now back to my color problem. What do you guys suggest?

OK adjusted L704 and was able to fix the rolling rainbow bars I now have color but the colors on the color bar pattern are all wrong. I tried messing with the tint but it did not give me the correct colors but did change the colors.

Could you post a picture of the color bars as they are now?

Black and white looks fine. I did accidentally adjust T704 thinking it was L704 at one point.
