I looked at the knob photo posted by Blue Lateral and may be able to help with the knob if I had some more info.

Is the VHF knob metal or plastic? Is it for a 1/4" flat shaft? What is the diameter? Assuming there is an extension on the knob rear that goes into the cabinet, approximately how long is that extension? If it is the same as the UHF knob, that you mentioned you do not need, can you post a photo of the rear of that knob? Anyone have a Photo of the rear?

Frenchy, I just re-read your post. Do you have a CTC-16XL or a CTC-16L ? They are different flybacks. If you have a CTC-16XL (which uses a 2AV2) it's RCA part number #115843 The CTC-16L is an earlier production run and uses a 1V2.

Frenchy,

I have ordered three Flybacks from Moyers and all were Thordarson. None have been an RCA brand Flyback. The Thordarson cross is a FLY 278 with the 115843 RCA part number. I have a Thordarson book that I got the number from. Call them and talk to Bill. He is the son of the man that started the business. They have 3 or 4 locations that stuff is spread out.

Yo, I got this one from Moyer (Fly 276) for my 16XL as a backup, but the little diagram that comes with it shows a 1V2 in the circuit, not a 2av2. Can anybody verify this is definitely the right one and maybe the diagram is just incorrect (when I look at a 2av2 and a 1v2 they look identical to me anyway so maybe they are interchangeable?)...thanks...Frenchy

Flyback #'s

The RCA service guide shows a p/n 113992 for the CTC-16 and p/n 115843 for the CTC-16X chassis. The schematics seem to be the same EXCEPT the 2AV2 has a thermistor (RV102) (no p/n) across lugs 1 & 4 of focus coil (p/n 113999)which is the same for both flybacks.

Frenchy, They have it. They had a few of them last month. The website search engine isn't referenced to their RCA parts. If I remember correctly, it was around $35.00. Their number is: 1-800-577-6001

This is the back of the UHF knob. The first extention to the VHF fine tune knob has a 1/2" extention. Not counting the part the the fine tune knob hooks to the tuner. The knob is metal.

Frenchy,
Either email them or give them a call. Others will vouch with me that they are very friendly and excellent in every way to help you with your order and most importantly know exactly what you are looking for. It also helps that they are reasonable and one of the quickest shippers i have ever experienced as far as purchasing parts. Good luck!
