ive been running the set all day off and on. i was watching the temp earlier, it seems to be alright, but i put the back on and stuck a small fan behind it to keep it cool, thats working out great ;-) the set has zero hum to it, and the picture is so much better than my '61 RCA Victor. i LOVE this thing, on top of my 1958 Philco (as in my picture i posted above) it looks like something from the Jetsons. were these sets cheap or were they more high end when they were new? ive been looking but no real info. thanks for all the help guys!

They were not cheap but not necessarily considered high end. They were made in a St. Paul, MN suburb, not exactly the mecca of TV production, and had much lower production than the top brands, although they sold well around here. They were pretty specialized and sold different stuff to industrial users. They got out of the consumer TV biz around 1970 but continued to make sets for institutional users like schools. Every TV I remember, in school, was a 19"SC with the two big knobs on the front, sitting on a high metal stand with wheels.

I'm not familiar with their history after that. I seem to remember hearing, on here I believe, that they made internals for video game systems and I know they made monitors long after they quit making regular TV's.
