Happy Holidays to All

Last year, we posted our Christmas card picture, styled after the old RCA color television ads. This year, the card is very different, but somehow we feel it still belongs in this forum.

So, Happy Holidays from us, John, Hillary and Buddy the guinea pig!

I remember those...Back in the Good Old Days when advertisers had CLASS & didn't try to beat you over the head to buy stuff....Something that is totally lost on the Billy Mayses & Vince the Sham-Wow guys of the world...

I'll say Merry Christmas!!!

When I hear holiday shopping, holiday presents, holiday this holiday that it drives me crazy! I just want to say "..and what holiday is that you're referring to...?" It sounds really stupid on a tv commercial; at least a lot of advertisers have gotten a brain and are using the word "Christmas" again like it really offends anybody anymore and furthermore who cares if it does??? Thats the reason this "HOLIDAY" is here in the first place.

We're not really on the PC bandwagon, but just to be clear; you'll notice that the caption to our card mentions both Christmas AND the New Year. Those are the holidays to which we refer in our thread subject header.

In addition, I'm sure more than a few of you guys found a certain 1957 color special to watch on your roundies, called "Happy Holidays with Bing & Frank." If the term is good enough for Der Bingle and the Chairman, it's good enough for us! And it is a great show, too.

And we personally don't care what greeting anyone uses this time of year. Wish us a Happy Hanukkah and we'll thank you just the same! Have a good one, whatever it is!

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah and Good Festivus to all!

I think it's time for the "Feats of Strength" at my house.
