Fictional Farnsworth device on TV show

I am always searching for new TV related information which appears on the web. Recently I have been getting a fair amount of web hits on The Farnsworth Portable communications device which is used on the TV show Warehouse 13. I don't have cable so I haven't seen the show. What thoughts do you have on a TV show using a real inventor like Farnsworth and attributing fictional inventions as his. Does this blur history or add amunition to RCA argument against Farnsworth? Or does this just make a great TV show?

Wiki definition
http://warehouse13.wikia.com/wiki/Farnsworth

Site describing how to build your own Farnsworth prop.

There are also blueprints for sale on eBay and elsewhere. Why are the eBay prices $14.95 BIN while other sites like Amazon selling for $9.95?

It's a little silly, but no question it was meant as a tribute to Farnsworth. Come to think of it, I haven't heard an 'RCA argument against Farnsworth' since the Sarnoff Library closed.

sad thing is, with the nano technology we have today, you could actually make a thing like that work. LCD in place of where the "CRT" is. a micro-camera in the middle sight glass. then the 802.11 wifi build into the system board, lithium polymer battery, it would work.

Next, you'll be saying that Nikola Tesla actually did not build an invention that created duplicates like in The Prestige.

It's a neat show show. The only American TV show that I've purchased the DVD for. I really enjoy it!
