GE 800C Contrast Control
I am wondering if anyone else has a restored GE 800C. I am still working on mine and am wondering if the contrast control is working properly or not. It seems to be more of a gain control and is very sensitive as to setting. The control itself checks fine but its action has me wondering. It also seems to make no difference in the contrast.
Thanks Gregb |

Makes very little difference in mine. My 800 has a pretty washed out picture compared to most 10" sets.

The brightness control seems to have a lot more effect on the picture than the contrast does. I can't get mine to an overloaded picture, but I use an agile modulator transmitter setup to send signal to channel 9 on my set. Like you said, the contrast control does very little.
I will say that the set is much more sensitive than most to antenna placement, so if you're going direct with a signal into the set I can see how it can possibly overload the AGC.
