DVHRC swapmeet at Kutztown, PA is coming

For the AK members that may not know about the Delaware Valley Historic Radio Club swap meet at Kutztown, PA, you should mark you calenders now.

With the proper disclaimer of being a vice-president of the club, I would encourage any AK member to stop by for one of the finest meets on the east coast. And again in September if you cannot make this one. You can always find our information at;

http://www.dvhrc.org/

My beautiful...and working...RCA Model 33, with the table, came from this show. And it sits next to my perfect Amborola battery set and my Zenith AM/FM/FM bakelite table set that shines brightly, also from the meet

It is mostly a radio show with some of the best collectors on the east coast already registered along with the best of the parts suppliers. And some help from our jukebox collector friends. For the tv crowd, my observation as a tv collector, is that there will be something for our small niche too. Including my table with a CTC-7 21" color roundie, an Admiral blonde 17" B&W, a RCA blonde 19" B&W, a few chassis, and assorted other stuff as I find it in my house. The big housecleaning is at hand.

The meet is under cover at Renniger's Antique Mart in Kutztown, PA about 40 miles north of Philadelphia and 10 miles west of Allentown, PA. The open shed is almost 250' long by 80' wide and is packed with sellers. If we sell out under cover, there are grass spaces available.

Three years ago, I went looking at the surrounding usual Renninger's dealers and came home with a 1926 playing Freshman Masterpiece with speaker.

We have been there for about 5 years and it is getting bigger and better by the year and getting rave reviews around the community. You can see some past photos here:

The meet starts quietly on Friday, May 13 and goes offically full steam on Saturday, May 14. You may camp outside for free overnight on Friday and join the DVHRC for a catered dinner on Friday evening at a bargain price. Check the Renninger's site for phone reservations;

There are no Saturday start time regulations, so you are on your own. The meet will also have an auction on Saturday around noon which does have a sellers commision and gives you the chance to donate your orphan items to benefit the club with no commision. A great way to say goodbye to that coil that you did not sell and have no clue about which will help our effort at preserving history. As the clerk of the auction, I have watched it go for two hours or so and have only seen a handful of items that did not sell.

Please join us to make this the meet of choice and please add your comments if you have been to our meets in past years...including last year's hurricane.

Thumbs up

Well put Dave! This is certainly a must-attend function whether you're into audio, vintage, ham, jukes or whatever, and worth the drive from anywhere. Friendliest bunch of folks in the hobby you'll ever encounter. Best of all...no rules. Look for me at Booth 321 with my Gobs of Knobs. Don't forget to pack your orphans for matching. I just may have the one you need.
