I saw that sticker-actually, looked like it might be from a rebuilder who wanted it to look like an RCA sticker? Reminds me of a 10BP4 I have with a big label that reads "RCA licensed"

NICE Zens,
I have an early zenith with a slight green halo. I wish to keep the set exactly that way for two reasons, added safety PLUS it definetly dates the set-- as long as halo isn't too bad. I have watced mine many a movie and only notice the halo slighty during some scenes. I don't think it's really worth the effort of a cataract surgery, do a search on old posts. If I ever was to do that, I would definelty put a tempered glass? plexi screen cut to shape for protection, the way some larger 60's B/W sets are done at the the factory. A rare mishap when happens, but I've seen shows were cheaply made foreign sets serously injure someone when implosions occur with no CRT safety glass.

I decided Im not going to touch the glass. The tube is in great condition and the tv looks to have all the original tubes and be low hours.
The combo is working well too. That aftermarket tube is tired, the screen controls are maxed. I worked it so I feed the audio in the stereo tape in instead of the audio form the tv. Sounds amazing and has a great picture with my dvd player. |
