15GP22 and others
I was a bit shocked to find this while searching for something else. Look at the list of CRTs at the bottom of the page.

It is a bit strange that they list it as Black & White.
![]() "Rebuilt Black & White Picture Tubes 3KP4 5BP4 7DP4 15GP22 21AXP22 21CYP22 These antique tubes are rebuildable, and can be rephospored. Gassy tubes can be rebuilt." Has anybody checked to see if they can do the rebuild? jr |

These guys showed up in 2006. I investigated them and found that they were phony. Notice that none of their links from the home page work.

Can you be more specific about what you found out about them? John |

For a start, phone disconnected. No response to several emails. Online search found that they were claiming to be starting all sorts of businesses.

I was quite surprised when I noticed not long ago that the page you found had reappeared on their website. They took it down years ago after much of what I'm sure they considered pestering by the collector community. Maybe they thought we had forgotten about them? |

I came up with Ian Charles, Seneca Micronics at 110 E N 1st St in Seneca, along with a blurb from some idiot who claimed this was a TV repair shop: http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3721023803
112 or 110-112 is Western Micronics CDN under the same Ian Charles. But read this old thread from 2005: http://www.videokarma.org/showthread.php?t=53284&page=5 |

One company I used to use for special circuit boards that I was very happy with went out of business. They kept their web page up for several years and even kept answering the phone, but when I'd ask for a quote they'd tell me they had closed down. You'd think they'd remove the web page. John |

possible 15gp22 patch
I know someone that used a test rig color CRT in place of the problematic 15gp with good results.
John has done some awesome work to preserve TV history many thanks on trying. I recently got rid of a TV project because that too was fritted CRTs and the cost to ship back and forth to France was too great. It's a shame these tubes are so tempermental given their complex structure that provides many complications. If someone would experiment making an all glass crt 15g w/ old phosphor face? Very involved but a cleaner and simpler design. That CRT patch works good ONLY if not a purists. Thompson or others @ RCA trashed critical engineering data needed probaly years ago to rebuild this complicated tube. The efforts here are great, remember RCA spent years developing Color CRTs. I'm interested in a ct-100 if anyone has one kicking around.

It seems to me that there would be value in commissioning the design of a replacement CRT more like a 21FJP22 that could be compatible with the CT100 Even if some circuit modifications had to be made to the chassis. I'm thinking of the convergence circuits. Sure they would be expensive but this is a rare set that would be worth it.

The question keeps coming up and I keep asking if, assuming any 15" color tube could or would be reproduced by somebody, it might not be much more practical to consider making new 15HP22s. That's the first curved shadow mask type with the phosphors directly on the inside surface of the screen rather than on a plate.
