Grundig Model 1060U Acquired and is blowing fuses (and original power cord blew off)

Hello everyone, earlier today I picked up from goodwill a 1950s Grundig Model 1060U that when I got it home and opened it up I saw that the fuse was blown and the original power cord was blown clean off from the base of the interlock cord where it goes into the back cover but the cord was taped to the top of the radio.

when its blowing fuses like this, is this a sign of a bad power transformer? if so should I just salvage the tubes and scrap the unit or is it easy to come across a new power transformer for one of these? Or would a bad filter capacitor cause this radio to blow fuses?

I'm hoping this is going to be an easy fix, as the last 3 Grundig radios I've attempted to repair were all failures and ended up with me having to toss them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a shorted SS rectifier or bad cap. It's worth unhooking the B+ winding and powering to verify.
Do you have a metered variac or dim bulb tester to allow you to limit current to better diagnose this?
Another thing to watch for is most European imports and some Japanese imports have a voltage selector switch and if it's set wrong it could be contributing to the issue.

The Voltage Selector was the first thing I checked and it was definitely set to 110V AC so that was ruled out right away. I can for sure check the rectifier and the capacitors next to try and see if those are at fault. It would definitely be nice if I can get this going because its in really good shape yet, in fact its in almost mint condition yet, including the original grille cloth on the front which is still white and not discolored at all.
