A Term I've Not Heard in Ages!
"Talk about Googie....(grin)"
That's a word I've not heard/used in awhile! A couple of years ago, I had to escort a then 25-year-old associate on a business trip out here from the least coast. Given that we had a couple of days of free time before our conference started, I showed her around a bit. Before the trip, she'd not been further west than Indiana. First place I took her when we got to Long Beach? That monument to Googie archetecture... a Norm's Coffee Shop! (For lunch... Alas, our Friday night was spent elsewhere... Friday nights at Norm's are a part of my cherished memories from my teenage days.) I then had to explain what Googie was all about and what it was like growing up in the Southland in the 1960's/1970's as a transplant from the least coast...
