Exclamation Hallicrafters "Sky-rider" TV

OK, how cool is this:

Harry P, I borrowed your picture, hope that's OK?

It appears the cabinet splits in two at the center?

Skyrider tv

Looks like a Halicrafter chassis. I have the Halicrafter porthole version.

"Skyrider" was the name Hallicrafters gave to their premium line of shortwave receivers during the Thirties thru the Fifties.

I own some Hallicrafters boatanchors and it would be very tempting to have a Skyrider TV to match. Not tempting enough to pay shipping across North America, though.

They also used the name "Skyrider Jr" on some not-so-premium models such as the S41-G... I have one of these that my father purchased just after WW-2... looks like H... (I think he repainted some of the gray with a brush!), but it plays fine. I do not intend to restore it, but intend to just leave it the way it was when he had it.
