I was thinking maybe smash a green CRT with similar plug, but that makes more sense. lol Any idea where I can find the right one? Ebay only has 2 right now, and I can't tell if they would be correct because of the poor pictures.

I've done that a couple times to some burned in scope CRTs. Kinda dangerous and messy though.

Maybe one in this lot would do. Like the yellow & black one in the middle.

Your best bet is to find a dud 7JP4 and scavenge its base. I don't think there ever were brighteners made for 7JP4s.
