The first pictures of your radio at the top of this thread don't look all that bad. When it comes time to work on the cabinet, before resorting to stipping it, first try cleaning it well with waterless hand cleaner. You might be surprised how it looks. I prefer Goop orange, but whatever brand you use, get the type WITHOUT pumice. Might only need a little touch up of stain on the abraded parts. But, of course, we can't see the top where damage often occurs, etc.
