the Italian Phonola brand was a trademark of the FIMI electronics company based in Saronno
FIMI became a Philips subsidiary in 1972 and is still in business as a manufacturer of medical display devices After 1972, the Phonola brand was slapped on some Philips consumer products, at least until the late 90s. I don't think they had anything to do with the US Phonograph maker. by the way, this radio was made in May 1959 |
