In most "normal" Europanen radios manufactured from the mid '50's to the '60's I've seen:
- For audio: EL 84 (6BQ5) (6Π14Π/6P14P) - for more powerfoul speakers (some use the EL 84) and EL 95, ECL 82, ECL 86 for less powrefoul speakers; ECC 83 was a preamplification tube. - For radiofrequency: EABC 80, EBF 89, ECH 81, EF 80, EF 89, ECL 85 (for F.M. tuning) There are some with more exotic tubes and I do hate the exotic tubes, like the bloody ELL 80 (sometimes you have a socket for 2 x EL 95)or that disaster called ECLL 800 (this it was used in the '60's at some West-German radios for minituarization). The rimlock series tube are hard to find in Europe. Sometimes is easyer to find tubes from the '40 and '50's. |
