The classic Sansui 9090's sound so good as they avoid any Darlington stages
and seem to have cascading emitter-follower topology.
I've heard of them being used as a super headphone Amp w/ high end low mass dynamics phones.
(maybe one could jump the series resistors to headphone socket for super damping?)

I have some Sterling 200 headphones w/ vacuum deposited titanium diaphragm
They were made by some breakaway engineers from Koss Corp.
