One problem with those consoles (why they don't sell well, or in some cases at all, at auction these days) is they are so big and difficult to transport safely over long distances. The second is that people nowadays do not, by and large, want big console sets in their homes anymore, opting instead for large flat screens in entertainment center cabinets or stands. (Note how many of these large consoles are sold on eBay, CL, etc. when the owner moves to a smaller house or to an apartment and must downsize.) The only folks who seem to want these older consoles are collectors/restorers of old TVs, such as many of VK's members. The general public outside the hobby could not care less about vintage TVs that do not work without either cable or a converter box, which is why the old CRT set often winds up in the owner's basement, on the curb or is sold/given away.
