I'm worried it might damage my set
I will travel tomorrow and stay away for 10 days. We are in the middle of a hot summer here, and it rains a lot almost every night. Because of leaks in the roof of my house I am covering my Predicta with a plastic bag. Now, I started to worry that because of the heat inside the bag there's a risk of damaging something, maybe it could dry some capacitors??? There's really a risk like this, or am I being paranoid???

Frankly you could submerge your Predicta in water, and as long as you did not let it soak long enough for the wood to expand/crack or afterwards leave it in a cool humid environment where the water would not dry before rust and mold set in (which takes several hours to several days) there will be no damage....And even if you did leave it that long the damage would only be cosmetic. I have taken sets that most likely have sat outside for 10 years, and made them work again.
If you let the storage area get over 100 degrees Fahrenheit there is a possible risk to early plastic. I've left the AC off during summer vacation and returned to find plastic feet on table sets shattered.

When I was a kid I would often pick up tv's even if they were out in the rain....
I would bake them out in the sun with the back off for a few days before checking them out later on.... .

I thank you guys for your input. The Predicta is fine. The trip was very nice, I stayed for ten days in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina. For people like us, who are into all sorts of vintage and antique stuff, it is a very nice place to visit, you see lots of buildings from the early 20th century in all the streets and avenues of the city. There's also a nice antiques fair that is held every Sunday, I bought a few things there ( no TVs or radios, as those would be troublesome to bring home by airplane ). We rented a house that was built in 1920, an incredible place that is still very original, with lots of art-nouveau details in its decoration. The only TV in the house was a 1960's or 70's portable that still works. Here are some pictures of the house and the TV:

I knew a dude from there back in the '80s, who called the place 'Malos Aires'.
 Looks like the air quality is better these days.

In the 1980's they ( the argentinians ) drove a lot of old and obsolete cars, like Ford Falcons and Citroens 2CV, they even dared to travel in great numbers to Southern Brazil ( where I live ) with those cars in the summer. No wonder air quality was bad there. Today the situation is different there, I saw very few Ford Falcons, the majority of cars on their streets are modern cars.
