Neat trick, wish it were my idea.

Here is one. You can eliminate the flyback on a SS set by
unhooking the B+ & collector line.
Put a yoke ( hoz winding ) from B+ to collector.
Now you can use a scope to find drive probs, just
watch for a clean wave form. Eliminates all the HV & secondaries.
