Wait a minute. Did you say a thermister was bad ?
Did you change it ?
If you did it could be the wrong type. Some go up in ohms when
hot & some go down.
Also does this use a relay for DGS ? Moto was one that did
but I dont remember how they worked. That was the early 70's
that I last changed one !
