Question about using am 8YP4 test CRT

Hey guys, so I'm home recovering from knee surgery and I'm finally getting to the point where I can move around, however I can't sit at my workbench. My wife is willing to bring my kcs96 chassis upstairs and put it on a desk for me so I can sit and work on it. Can I use my 8yp4 test CRT on it to make sure I got everything right when I'm done? I don't want to ask her to bring the whole cabinet upstairs that's a little much. I have never used one before so I don't really know what I need to do. The picture tube on the set is a 21AMP4A. Here's a link to the schematic. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fKn...w?usp=drivesdk

The 8yp4 test CRT is a very versatile tool that I have used many times, and should work, provided it's hooked up correctly.

It seems you will have the same problem I did, IF, it's not a complete 8yp4 test jig with yoke, which is the thin neck of the 8yp4 vs the thicker 21AMP4A , for that I simply cut up an old TP roll to size, put it around the thinner neck and built it up with painters tape to where the bigger yoke would fit more snug.

Obviously you will have to make a adapter to match the pins between the 2 if you do not have one, but once hooked up right, there is no reason why it should not work, just don't expect a pretty picture, as the deflection angle will be a tad off!

That's fine if the deflection angles a little off I don't mind. Before the TV just had swirling lines on it and no image. So I'll know that it'll be working. It's not a test jig it's just the tube. But I think I have a bad brightener around that maybe I can cut and make into an adapter.
