Telix CRT - Rebuilder?

Has anyone ever hear of Telix? I would assume they are a rebuilder but I don't see or feel a glass weld at the neck. Would a company rebrand new CRTs with their label and then also remove all of the OEM labels?

Also the CRT number is odd, its a color roundie and if it is new enough to use a V in the number it should be 19V not 21V. Further makes me think its is a small rebuild company, but again no weld that I can tell.

I was amused by the five year warranty blacked out and over stamped with two years.

I'd guess they sold the same CRTs with different prices depending on the warranty.

Also, if these were sold to Telix by a recognized maker, they woul have a label with the maker's EIA number but not their name. It seems unusual to remove that, especially if Telix bought CRTs from multiple makers - they would want to trace the source in case of excess failures from one maker.

These jugs may have been overruns sold at a discount. To
make the most $$ its best to run things at 99% & discount
what you dont need. Look at the socket for any clues.
EIA numbers may have been scrubbed. If you are selling say Zenith / Rauland
jugs Z/R would NOT want it to get out that you could buy them at
half price !

This is a tube I have. Would there be any EIA codes or other maker marks in the glass? The above discussion around selling overruns at a discount seems logical. It also it certainly possible that there was a EIA label that fell off over time.

The "A" on the label could indicate a quality rating (number and location of bad phosphor dots) after rebuild. As you said, the absence of a visible weld is confusing though.

I see a "kink" in the glass just below the brown-colored section of the neck. Would that be a location of a weld in rebuilding?

I would guess that the number "21VFB" means 21FB(P22), but the person making the label just automatically added the "V" out of habit by then.

I think you could add dag to the neck extension after it is added on but before the gun and leads button is sealed in place.

Any chance of you having this CRT tested? It would be interesting to see how good the tube is.

I have a Sencore CR70 and this is the best roundie I have tested. Equal cutoff and emission measurements on all guns, and the emission holds steady under the life test button. Below is the emission measurement. I assume each testers measure a bit different plus I have no idea what a NOS roundie would test at. If someone has tested a NOS roundie on a CR70 I would be interested in what the reading was.

Back to the question about if this tube was rebuilt. I have 2 rebuilt tubes that have rebuilt labels and there is a definite ridge that I can feel and see. This Telix tube does not have this. No one has commented that Telix was a OEM which suggests this company removed the labels or received un-labeled tubes and would in turn sell them, likely discounted. Note while possible I doubt someone removed just the OEM label, further the Telix label is well attached so unlikely that this label survived while the OEM label fell off.
